I have applied for Information Technology but I heard the entrance exam for IT and engineering are pretty tough and very different from Nepali course, is it so? Moreover, i have also heard that one needs to score around 75-80 to even stand a chance of being accepted in major cities and only some nepalese do make it pass through the entrance exam. Are these things really true?
It is very normal to hear such hoax when you are applying for Finland. And, it is also true that when you are applying you think that everything you heard might be true. But, don't be afraid, don't scare from Entrance test. Just work hard during preparation and do your best on exam.
Entrance for Information Technology and Engineering is really easy if you are good on mathematics and science. You just focus on courses of +2 or I. Sc. They are definitely tough for you if have not studied properly during your +2 or I. Sc. and want to escape out of Nepal just to avoid tough studies. But, if you are at least average student during your Intermediate degree, Entrance exam is not a big deal for you.
It is true that only few Nepalese have succeeded to get admission on major city like Helsinki on Computer Science and Engineering compared to other International students like Chinese and Indians. But I don't think, it is because of less score in Entrance exam. Remember, you are competing worldwide with all those Chinese, Indians and German to get admission. So, it is natural that the number of acceptance is not high as other countries. But, it does not mean that only lucky or exceptional students make it success. There are a large number of Nepalese living in Helsinki that proves that the acceptance is not as scary as you had mentioned on your mail.
The number of acceptance looks less in Finland it is because, you are being familiar with large numbers of acceptance in Australia, UK, USA and Canada. When we hear that there are thousands of Nepalese in USA and Australia and hear that there are hundreds of Nepalese in Finland, definitely the number sounds less. But, remember one major fact, Finland is inviting you to study on the price of Finland Government. Education is free, it means government is funding for your studies. But, when you go to USA and Australia, they are evaluating you whether you can pay their fee or not. You need to prove yourself that you are able to pay them fee in Dollars. Education is business for them while it is investment for Finnish. So, don't aspect to get acceptance easily as you get from USA, Australia and UK. But, it is not hard to get admission if you are hard working and loyal student.

ReplyDeleteam very delighted having this opportunity to ask this question. As a Nigerian applying for international business management in Finland. where can i concentrate on for the entrance examination.
ReplyDeleteDear Kingray, I could not understand your question properly. If you mean area of concentration for entrance preparation in terms of question structure, it depends. I have already explained it on one of my blogs. The best solution might be you contact with your college people. Mail them, most probably to International Officer of that college about the structure. But, in most of the cases, colleges prefer to hide the structure of the entrance to examine the inner quality of the student.
Hello Everyone,
ReplyDeleteI have a query if anyone can help me i will so much thankful.
Well, i have received a letter for entrance examination which is really a good part. My first preference is Kajaani University of Applied Science and second is Turku UAS for International business program.
I have done research and study and understood that Kajaani is a very small town.
So, would like to go for Turku USA. As far as i have studied i have understood that i don't select 1st options my score will checked for 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
The questions is if i don't select the 1st option and score is get checked for 2nd so what you think minimum i should score ? For an example if my luck doesn't favor and score is not meeting the 2nd and so on options. still i have a chance to go for 1st option or i will lose place everywhere to study in Finland?
I would really be very thankful to this answer.
Regards,
Samir Thakkar

ReplyDeleteHi Everyone. I need your suggestions.
ReplyDeleteYesterday I took entrance at Siddhartha Vanasthali. But mistakenly, I wrote only my Given Name i.e. Subhash instead of Given name and family name i.e. Subhash paudel in all the pages. Does it really matter?
I got to hear from one of the examinee that the exam he took one day back for IT, he was disqualified as he did not write the name of his university correct. So how can we know if we are disqualified?
Does somebody have any idea?
Thanking you in advance and waiting with much anticipation and palpitating heart.
Subhash
