Studies and Jobs in Lappeenranta, Entrance model 2010

Dear Friend,
I am very much interested in machines and its application. I want to get dexterity in machines and want to do some sort of research after I get good academic background.

I have applied for Bachelore in Mechanical Engineering for 1. option in Saimaa UAS, Technology, Lappeenranta for Degree Programme in Mechanical Engineering and Production Technology.

Is education free for this subject also?

Yes, they are also free. All of the study programs in Finland are free.

What is the reputation of the above institution and how are the faculty members over there?

It is relatively new Polytechnics. Faculties are average. But, need not to worry since all of the polytechnics in Finland maintains above a minimum recommended standard which is far better than the education standard of common private colleges of Nepal.

How is the place Lappeenranta in terms of development, climate, jobs, accommodation?

It is  relatively smaller town. It got only about 60,000 people. Your Polytechnics is located on the heart of Lappeenranta city.
Jobs are very very hard in Lappeenranta, I can say you, out to total 20 Nepalese in Lappeenranta, I have known that only 5 has got part time jobs yet after one year. Accommodation are very good while comparing with the cities of similar sizes.

Can you help me for the entrance syllabus and fee to be paid for entrance?

For Entrance, it would cost around 5000-6000. Please contact Embassy to know the exact amount.

I will update the entrance model questions for 2010 soon on www.nepalfinland.com and www.nepal-finland.com. Meanwhile, you can practice with the same model questions of 2009 by downloading from following link:

  1. Ok fren If your work is first priority as most neplease have while coming to saimaa plese dont come to this city because getting job here is relly impossible, I am a student here and still jobless. If you really want to study seriously without earning for your entire duration of study then u can come here but notice here climate is very adverse. you will miss Nepal after coming here very much. You are sincere in your study why dont u try KU for the same program cuz education is far better there than here I am sure.

If your income is your first priority dont come here.

  2. dear frens, i am here in saimma in mechanical engineering and production technology, lappeenranta.if you are concerned about the job in lappeenranta ,it is impossible.10 of us came last year ,still we are jobless.be careful about fraud consultancies ,they may cheat you by saying summer job in the schengen countries like norway, denmark, sweden, germany,,,which is really impossibele and turn out to be illegal.if you are good student and really want to study with your own financial support then you are welcome ,as my fren baburam said you invest more then 6,000 euros while coming here, that will be sufficient to study in good university in nepal
