Studies and Jobs in Helsinki

Dear Friend,
Thank you so much for writing to me.

Hi, I am preparing for studies in #############  for Masters in ########### as I have been accepted in this University. I guess this University is good.
1) Do you have any idea how to obtain health insurance. Is it good to take from Nepali insurance company or other European insurance company?

Health insurance should cover up to € 30000 for one year. You can do it on insurance companies of Kathmandu OR using online insurance services if you can buy online. If you have any friend/relative abroad, ask them to buy it from https://www.schengen-visa-insurance.com/, since it is the cheapest one I have known yet. It would cost about 50-100 Euro per year depending upon your age.

If you want to do it in Kathmandu, Everest Insurance also provides customized health insurance service for Finland for 250 USD per year.

2) I want to focus my studies well and also want to generate at least living expense in Helsinki, is it possible to get a job in first 6 months?

May be. But, I suggest you to focus on studies primarily since you are coming for Master's degree, your studies will keep you fully occupied. Though, it is very tough to get a job even in Helsinki, I feel, you can find something in 6 months to make your living.

3) I see no institutes teaching Finnish in Nepal. How can I learn the language??

Its true. there are no suitable Finnish language training institutions in Nepal. You should try learning online.

4) I have been admitted to other universities like L########### university in Sweden. Is it wise to come to Helsinki for Studies? as I want to generate living expense while studying.

I really can't help you with it since i don't know much about Sweden. As much as I heard, Sweden and Finland are similar. But, you try to find someone from Sweden and then compare and decide which could be a good destination for you. If making your living expense is prime priority, then, I must tell you,  it is very very difficult to get a job, even in Helsinki.

BR,
NF

I went through the site, and it was very much useful to me and others who plan for moving to Finland. Your work is really appreciable as you manage time for this.
Thank You

  2. from what i have heard the schengen insurance has been rejected when renewing the visa in finland coz it does not have a 365 days coverage. so consult the embassy before you pay for the insurance.

  4. Hi!
After being accepted in the University in Finland I've applied for Resident permit visa, I would like to ask, after obtaining the visa, Will I be able to travel any places in Europe during my holidays? Do I need to apply for any other visa from there if I wish to go to any country in Europe for certain period?
