Information for students who have received invitation for entrance exam

I observed that many of the students are still confusion about entrance issues though I wrote the same on many posts. So, I am posting extract of a news from Embassy of Finland, Nepal. Remember: it is not the entrance information for year 2008 (this year), but it is from last year (2007). I am posting it, just to give you more detail about the Finnish way of expressing issues related to Entrance and how they manage Entrances.

Information for students who have received invitation for entrance exam
  • Read your invitation carefully, it should state WHO ORGANISES the exams, WHEN, WHERE AND THE FEE.
  • Embassy has no obligation of informing students of exams which are NOT organised by the Embassy.
  • Most exams are organised by the British Council in Nepal, in this case the Embassy has no involvement -> Contact British Council, not the Embassy.
  • If you have a chance to sit in an exam in Nepal, use that opportunity! It's not adviced to apply a visa for Finland to participate exam in Finland, if you can do it here.
  • If the only chance to participate to the exam is in Finland, you may apply a tourist visa. Chances for getting a visa are extremely low, only very few students will be allowed a tourist visa for entrance exam purposes.
  • Bear in mind all costs are borne by the visa applicant: non-refundable visa fee, plane tickets, local transportation and accommodation etc. in Finland.
  • For tourist visa, follow the general tourist visa application procedures and bring a copy and original of all mentioned below:
  1. All educational documents
